High Wind Watch, *NOAA Issue Date: 10/18/2017 05:17:23 AM * Winds South to southwest 30 to 40 MPH with gusts to 60 MPH. * Timing Winds increase Thursday morning, peak Thursday afternoon and evening, then subside Thursday night. * Locations in the advisory include Lakeview, Alturas, Canby, Fort Rock, silver Lake, Sprague river, Beatty, Bly and Adel. * Locations in the watch include Areas along highway 31 from Paisley to summer Lake, along highway 395 near alkali Lake and in the warner mountains. * Impacts Driving conditions will be dangerous, especially for high-profile vehicles. Stronger winds could down trees and Power lines and cause flying debris. * View the hazard area in detail at https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mfr/hazard Precautionary/preparedness actions... A wind advisory means that winds of 35 MPH are expected with higher gusts possible. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 MPH, OR gusts of 58 MPH OR stronger may occur. Flash Flood Watch, *NOAA Issue Date: 10/18/2017 03:04:39 AM The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for the Chetco bar burn area in Oregon and the western portion of the eclipse complex in California This does not include the cities of Brookings, Harbor, pistol river, or happy camp. * From Thursday morning through Thursday evening heavy rainfall and high rain rates across the burn scars is expected. * Ponding of water over roadways and debris flows will be possible. Precautionary/preparedness actions... If you come across a flooded roadway, find an alternate route. Turn around, don't drown. Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event. People, structures and roads located below steep slopes, in canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides. A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.

Comments: All lanes on Hwy 62 are open between 6 AM to 7 PM, Mon-Thur, and 6 AM to 10 PM, Fri-Sun. Always use caution, watch for lane closures, and signs. The new access to Crater Lake Avenue at Fowler Lane is open and the existing access at Corey Road is closed. North/Middle: Daytime, watch for truck traffic in the Vilas / Hwy 62 intersection. South: Agate Road at Hwy 62 is permanently closed. During the day, workers and equipment will be working off the roadway. Use caution, and watch for workers throughout the project.

Details: US101 MP 311.40 (Reinhart Creek Bridge - south of Port Orford) Effective March 1, 2017, US101 crossing the Reinhart Creek Bridge is restricted to 20,000 lbs. single axle, 34,000 lbs. tandem axle - 105,500 lbs. GVW, Weight Table 2 for divisible loads; 21,500 lbs. single axle, 43,000 lbs. tandem axle - 98,000 lbs. GVW, Weight Table 3 for non-divisible loads. Non-divisible loads exceeding these weights may cross the bridge if they stop oncoming traffic and straddle the centerline. Certified flaggers are required to stop oncoming traffic. Effective May 5, 2017, during construction, on-site certified flaggers may be provided to the carrier at no cost on a case-by-case basis during construction hours. Contact the Over-Dimension Permit Unit for information.
