Starting Monday, July 22, 2019, the South Bank Path will be closed for the construction of the Downtown Riverfront Park. The closure is expected to last until spring 2021. The Frohnmayer and DeFazio bridges will remain open throughout the construction project.
People are urged to detour through Alton Baker Park. There will also be a detour through downtown.

N Mississippi: Fremont to Shaver

(December 30, 2020) – Construction begins next week on an urgent sewer repair project on N Mississippi Avenue that will affect travel on the three blocks between N Fremont and Shaver streets. Construction is scheduled for weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays if needed.
The traveling public is advised to expect some travel delays and street closures and to follow all traffic control signage. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrian, wheelchair, and bicycle use.

In November 2018, Springfield voters approved a five-year $10 million general obligation bond to fund street repairs on a list of priority commercial streets in need of repair including High Banks Rd. from Hwy. 126 to 58th Street.
Work includes a mill and pave, reconstruction in areas with cement stabilization and areas with concrete pavement repair, replacement of curb ramps/truncated domes for ADA compliance, erosion control, installation of a small section of sidewalk, and mountable curb on Thurston Rd., installation of signs, temporary and permanent striping, and cleaning of identified existing signs. Work is scheduled for Summer 2021.

Paving and shoulder repair work on Fryrear Road will begin on Monday, March 8, 2021. Work hours will generally be from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Mondays through Fridays. The project is expected to be complete by Friday, May 7.
Road users should anticipate single lane closures and delays during the work hours and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. During the course of the project, Fryrear Road will be closed at the approaches to US20 and OR 126 to complete the shoulder repair and paving work.
