US101B, 2 miles West of Astoria MP 5; Closure with Detour
The Lewis and Clark River Bridge will be closed starting December 1, 2014; a detour will be in place. Use an alternate route., The scheduled work includes reconstruction of the Lewis & Clark River Bridge. The Lewis & Clark River Bridge is now closed to facilitate construction activities. This full closure is anticipated to last until September 4, 2015. A detour route is currently designated with signing.The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2017.

Comments: : I-84 reduced to one lane in each direction from Monday at 5 a.m. to Friday at noon for center barrier replacement; expect up to 20 minute delays. Project Description: This project will replace 12-miles of center concrete barriers on I-84 from Cascade Locks (milepost 50) to Hood River (milepost 60) between July and November 2015, before paving in summer 2016. The project will result in a smoother ride, increased safety and extend the life of the highway. Traffic Impacts: Travelers should expect I-84 to be reduced to one lane in each direction (west and eastbound) as crews replace the center barrier from around milepost 55 to milepost 65 (east of Cascade Locks); travelers can expect up to 20 minute delays. The left lanes (fast lanes) will be closed starting on Monday, August 17 at 5 a.m. then reopening on Friday, August 21 at noon with a temporary barrier in place to protect work crews. Motorists should exercise caution in the project workzone, as construction vehicles may be entering and exiting travel lanes. Work will be put on hold until the middle of September to reduce traffic delays associated with Labor Day.

Comments: Contractors will be working around exit 87 on the 3 Mile Creek Bridge. Barrier will be used to route traffic for that exit around the workzone. August 31st to September 1st the contractor will be closing the East bound slow lane from MP 84.75 to MP 88.0 for shoulder paving and grading. September 4th the contractor will switch all traffic lanes on I-84 back to their original configurations, of two lanes in the East and West bound directions for holiday weekend traffic. Traffic can expect minimal delays.Traffic can expect minimal delays. Speeds have bene reduced to 50mph on I84 through the work zone for the entirety of the project.

Comments: During the week of August 30th – September 5th the contractor will not be working on the project. Traffic can expect no delays. Oregon Mainline Paving will be replacing the top 2” of pavement in both the slow and fast lanes on Interstate 84. They will also replace the shoulder rumble strips, along with substandard median barrier with new barrier that meets today’s requirements for crash worthiness. The barrier replacement will take place during the day, while the paving operation and other project related activities will happen at night.

Comments: Blasting work Monday and Thursday with one hour closure on US 26 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.; expect 20-minute delays during daylight Monday to Thursday. Project Description: Construction of safety improvements to prevent severe and fatal crashes on U.S. 26 from east of Kiwanis Camp Road to east of the Mirror Lake Curves and preserve the highway to Oregon Highway 35 is underway on Mt. Hood. Work on the nearly eight mile stretch of U.S. 26 includes:Traffic Impacts: K&E Excavating will work Monday through Friday from sunrise to sunset. This week's work requires flagging throughout the three-mile project area from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Hauling will also continue along Lolo Pass Road and Trillium Lake Road. Details include: U.S. 26 • Monday through Thursday during daylight hours, travelers will encounter traffic stops controlled by flaggers, with lane and shoulder closures from sunrise to sunset throughout the three-mile project area. Travelers should plan for 20-minute delays any time the contractor is working. Periodic flagging could also occur on Friday. • One lane will remain open in each direction for a nearly three-mile stretch of U.S. 26 from east of Kiwanis Camp Road to east of the Mirror Lake Curves. This lane closure will remain in place around-the-clock until October 31. • Blasting will resume after Labor Day and will require closures on U.S. 26 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, August 13, K&E Excavating finished blasting on the slopes east of the runaway truck ramp. Lolo Pass Road • Periodic hauling will continue along Lolo Pass Road and take place Monday through Friday from sunrise to sunset. People in the area should use caution and expect truck traffic.
