Lanes Affected: (Westbound) 1 Lane (Eastbound) 1 Lane
Comments: : I-84 reduced to one lane in each direction from Monday at 5 a.m. to Friday at noon for center barrier replacement; expect up to 20 minute delays. Project Description: This project will replace 12-miles of center concrete barriers on I-84 from Cascade Locks (milepost 50) to Hood River (milepost 60) between July and November 2015, before paving in summer 2016. The project will result in a smoother ride, increased safety and extend the life of the highway. Traffic Impacts: Travelers should expect I-84 to be reduced to one lane in each direction (west and eastbound) as crews replace the center barrier from around milepost 55 to milepost 65 (east of Cascade Locks); travelers can expect up to 20 minute delays. The left lanes (fast lanes) will be closed starting on Monday, August 17 at 5 a.m. then reopening on Friday, August 21 at noon with a temporary barrier in place to protect work crews. Motorists should exercise caution in the project workzone, as construction vehicles may be entering and exiting travel lanes.
