I-84 MP 83.5 to 88.5

No to Minimum Delay; Construction Work
Lanes Affected: (Westbound) 1 Lane , Shoulder (Eastbound) 1 Lane , Shoulder
Comments: Traffic will be placed in single lanes throughout the project both in the eastbound and westbound directions. Speeds will be reduced to 50mph. The contractors will be placing rebar and concrete paving behind barrier. Contractors will also continue to perform bridge construction and other miscellaneous preparations in advance of the concrete paving operation. Wildish Standard Paving Company will be replacing the concrete pavement located on Interstate 84 within the city limits of The Dalles. They will also be constructing a new bridge on I-84 over Threemile Creek. The work will take place in stages in order to minimize delays and ensure that both freeway lanes are open in each direction during peak traffic volumes this summer and over holiday weekends. Starting in early February traffic will be placed in a single lane in each direction to start stage construction. The first major stage will be completed by Memorial Day 2015. During the summer work will consist mostly of bridge construction. Roadwork will pick up again after Labor Day 2015 with the project being completed by Memorial Day 2016.

I-84 MP 103.75 to 104.83

Details: I-84 MP 103.5 to MP 105.0 EB & WB (Biggs Junction) Effective July 22, 2013, this section of I-84 will be restricted to 19 feet 00 in. in width. The height will be restricted to 19 feet 04 in. in height eastbound, and 17 feet 10 in. in height westbound. Effective June 3, 2014, the I-84 eastbound and westbound ramps to/from US97 will be restricted to 16 feet 00 in. in width. Loads wider than 16 feet 00 in. in width should use Exit 109 (Rufus) to/from US97. In addition, effective November 1, 2014, the I-84 eastbound ramps to/from US97, and the ramp from I-84 westbound to US97 will be restricted to 14 feet 00 in. in width. Loads wider than 14 feet 00 in. in width should use Exit 109 (Rufus) to/from US97. Estimated date of completion is June 1, 2015.

Lanes Affected: (Westbound) 1 Lane (Eastbound) 1 Lane
Comments: Striping crews will be working at night from 7pm -7am Sunday through Wednesday. Traffic can expect delays of 15 to 20 minutes. Contractors will be installing permanent signs, guardrail, barrier, various electrical items, and constructing the pedestrian island/crosswalk on the eastside of US97/US30 intersection. All work except striping should be during the daytime hours and flaggers will be utilized to facilitate construction. I84 is still reduced to a single lane in each direction at Biggs. Speeds on I84 through the work zone have been reduced to 50 MPH.

US26 MP 49 to 56

Comments: Work Monday through Friday from sunrise to sunset. This week's work will include 24-hour flagging on the west end of the project and blasting on Tues. Project Description: Construction of safety improvements to prevent severe and fatal crashes on U.S. 26 from east of Kiwanis Camp Road to east of the Mirror Lake Curves and preserve the highway to Oregon Highway 35 is underway on Mt. Hood. Work on the nearly eight mile stretch of U.S. 26 includes: Paving between Silent Rock and OR 35. Cutting back the slope along a 600 foot section at Map Curve to provide a 27 foot wide ditch for rocks to land away from the road. Cutting back the rock slope east of the runaway truck ramp to east of the Mirror Lake trailhead. Highway widening to install a median barrier. Constructing a retaining wall to reduce impacts to existing trails from highway widening work. Extending the westbound passing lanes for a total of about 1,400 feet. Traffic Impacts: Starting Monday, one lane will remain open in each direction for a nearly three mile stretch of U.S. 26 from east of Kiwanis Camp Road to east of the Mirror Lake Curves. This lane closure will remain in place, around-the-clock from April 1 to October 31. Monday through Friday, travelers will encounter traffic stops controlled by flaggers, lane and shoulder closures from sunrise to sunset.

Details: US26 MP 47.20 to MP 57.45 EB & WB (Government Camp) Beginning April 1, 2015, this section of US26 will be closed for approximately 30 minutes per the following schedule: In April, May, September, and October: 30-minute closures may occur Mon/Tues/Thurs nights between the hours of 5:30 PM & 6:30 PM. In June, July, and August: 30-minute closures may occur Mon/Tues/Thurs nights between 6:30 PM & 7:30 PM. In addition, there will also be intermittent traffic stops lasting up to 20 minutes at other times during construction work. No construction work will occur on holidays and Sundays. Effective April 6, 2015, this section of US26 will be restricted to 22 feet 00 in. in width at all hours. Estimated date of completion is October 31, 2015.
