ORE130, 4 miles West of Intersection with Three Rivers Highway ORE22 MP 5; Closure
Highway 130 is closed to all traffic at the bridge at mile 5.11 for bridge work. This closure is expected to last until late September, 2014., Highway 130 will be closed until the end of September, 2014, as contractors repair the bridges along the highway. The bridges will be closed in succession until the work is complete, preventing through traffic from accessing the highway. There are two detours from this location: vehicles can travel from Hebo to Grand Ronde on Highway 22, or they can travel from Hebo to Lincoln City on Highway 101 and from Lincoln City to Grand Ronde on Highway 18. Highways 18 and 101 are better suited to large vehicles.

Project Description: This project replaces a viaduct on I-5 that crosses a ravine at S.W. Iowa Street, between Terwilliger Boulevard (exit 297) and Corbett Avenue (exit 298) in Portland and includes building a temporary detour bridge on the west side of I-5. Traffic Impacts: No traffic impacts. The speed limit on I-5 is reduced to 50 mph in the work area. Project Description: This project will help improve traffic flow at this busy interchange by constructing a new free-flowing on-ramp from NE Airport Way westbound onto I-205 northbound. Motorists on NE Airport Way eastbound will have two left turn lanes onto I-205 northbound and will no longer have to share signal time with westbound motorists on NE Airport Way. Comments: Reconstructing and repaving work is on nearly all three lanes of Baseline Street from 10th Avenue to 1st Avenue. Expect delays. Project Description: ODOT and the City of Hillsboro are partnering on a paving and utility improvement project on Tualatin Valley (TV) Highway (OR 8) between Minter Bridge Road and 331st Avenue. Work on TV Highway involves grinding, reconstructing, paving and restriping; significantly upgrading the City’s water and storm water systems; improving more than 100 ADA ramps (accessible curb ramps); and repairing and paving the Dairy Creek Bridge. Traffic Impacts: The contractor is working on Oak Street and Baseline Street on storm sewer pipe replacement, sidewalk and ADA ramp work, and reconstructing and repaving lanes. Work will be moving west to east on Oak Street in 3-block sections starting at Dennis Avenue and ending at 10th Avenue. Work will be moving east to west on Baseline Street in 3-block sections starting at 10th Avenue and ending at Dennis Avenue. Expect the following work on Oak Street and Baseline Street over the next couple of months: - The right lane of Oak Street from Dennis Avenue to 1st Avenue is currently closed 24 hours a day (until approximately the end of March 2014). This includes times when the contractor is not actively working on the project - The right or left lane of Baseline Street from 10th Avenue to 7th Avenue will be closed 24 hours a day (until approximately April 2014) - At night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the middle lane of Oak Street and Baseline Street may also be closed to create a wider work area. Cross streets in this section may also be impacted during the work - Work will take place at night and during the day - Access to the Tuality Hospital emergency room, hospital and clinics will be available at all times Other project work: - Work is wrapping up on Baseline and Oak streets between 10th Avenue and Dennis Avenue testing and chlorinating the new water lines. There will be daytime single lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and nighttime double lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. intermittently through this section. Construction will continue through 2015, with daytime and nighttime lane closures up to 7 days a week as crews move through the project. On TV Highway and some side streets, road users should plan for congestion, delays and uneven road surfaces. There is increased traffic enforcement in the area. Comments: The I-5 bridge work over SW Hood Avenue in South Waterfront requires a 24-hour single lane closure on Hood Ave under the I-5 bridge until March 2015 Project Description: Construction is underway on a seismic retrofit project for five bridges along the Interstate 5 corridor between Portland’s South Waterfront district and the Tualatin River. Retrofitting the state’s older bridges to meet modern seismic specifications will help ensure I-5 would not be immobilized in the event Oregon experiences a powerful earthquake. Traffic Impacts: The I-5 bridge work over SW Hood Avenue in South Waterfront requires a 24-hour single lane closure on SW Hood Avenue under the I-5 bridge for approximately 12 months. Due to this lane closure, road users are not permitted to continue straight on SW Bancroft Street from SW Hood Avenue. All traffic on SW Hood Avenue will be required to either turn right or left on SW Macadam Avenue. A fully signed detour is in place directing road users back to SW Bancroft Street via SW Macadam Avenue, SW Curry Street and SW Moody Avenue.

Comments: Expect nighttime shoulder, intersection and lane closures along McLoughlin Boulevard throughout the month of September between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Project Description: This project was designed to preserve the roadway on OR 99E (McLoughlin Boulevard) between Naef Road and the Clackamas River Bridge. The purpose of this project is to address the failing sections of roadway on OR 99E by repairing the pavement and preserving it for years to come. Project elements include: - Rebuilding sections of the road on OR 99E under the pavement - Repaving the roadway on OR 99E between Roethe Road and the Clackamas River Bridge - Connecting sidewalks in multiple locations - Improving sub-standard handicap ramps in multiple locations - Striping bike lanes - Connecting the traffic signals to improve traffic flow The electrical contractor, Sundown Electric, has started the underground electrical work for traffic signal timing and sidewalk work will follow. The signal detection loops will be installed and connected to the new signal timing system after the highway paving is completed. After the sidewalks and curbs are complete, Oregon Mainline Paving and several of their sub-contractors will begin paving the road in the spring of 2014. This project consists of performing bridge rehabilitation work including placing a new concrete overlay on the bridge surface and installing scour protection at the bridge bents underneath the structure along US26 approximately four miles east of its intersection with US101 (Oregon Coast Highway). The scheduled work includes the Contractor performing bridge repairs. Flaggers will control single lane traffic during construction activities as required. Expect delays of up to 20 minutes and drive through the area with caution. Oregon State Police will be enforcing the speed limit through the work zone area. The project is scheduled to be completed in October 2014.

Comments: U.S. 26 will close between the west end of Government Camp and east of Kiwanis Camp Road for rock blasting from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m Sept 4. Expect intermittent flagging and traffic stops up to 20-mInutes Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Traffic is reduced to traveling in one lane in each direction travelers will encounter delays. Blasting the tall slopes will require one-hour closures of U.S. 26 Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Blasting will take place in late August. A date will be determined the week of Aug. 11. Here are the other traffic impacts related to this project: *Blasting the rock-slopes will require up-to 1 hour closures of U.S. 26 three days a week *Monday through Thursday between 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Blasting is not expected to start until late July. *Intermittent traffic stops lasting 20-minutes anytime the contractor is actively working. *Increased truck traffic on U.S. 26. *Intermittent single lane closures and flagging for other work instead of full highway closures. *Construction work will not occur on holidays or Sundays. *No construction work will occur from November to March of each year. During this time all existing lanes will re-open. ODOT is constructing a project along a nearly eight mile stretch of U.S. 26 between Kiwanis Camp Road and OR 35 to improve safety by reducing severe crossover crashes and rockfall. Work includes: *Paving between Silent Rock and OR 35 *Cutting back the slope along a 600 foot section at Map Curve to provide a 27 foot wide ditch for rocks to land away from the road• *Cutting back the rock slope east of the runaway truck ramp to east of the Mirror Lake trailhead *Highway widening to install a median barrier• *Construction of a retaining wall to reduce impacts to existing trails from highway widening work *Extending the westbound passing lanes for a total of about 1,400 feet• Project Schedule: Work is expected to take place in 2014, 2015 and 2016 in the months of April-October each year in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Comments: Shoulder and sidewalk closure on the Glencoe Road overpass on Wednesday, Sept. 3 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Minimal traffic impacts. Project Description: This project replaces the Glencoe Road overpass at U.S. 26 in North Plains and improves the highway ramps, bicycle and pedestrian connections, signs, traffic signals, striping and drainage at this interchange. A culvert under Glencoe Road will also be replaced with a bridge. Work is expected to be complete in summer 2014. Traffic Impacts: Activities will occur off the roadway with minimal traffic impacts.

Comments: Jacobson Road will be reduced to one lane on Wednesday, Sept. 3 and Thursday, Sept. 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Flaggers in area. Project Description: The U.S. 26 Brookwood Parkway/Helvetia Interchange project will improve traffic flow and safety in the interchange area. Project elements include: - Constructing a new westbound U.S. 26 to southbound Brookwood Parkway exit loop ramp. - Reconstructing the westbound U.S. 26 entrance ramp from Helvetia Road. - Widening the Brookwood Parkway overcrossing to accommodate additional northbound and southbound lanes over U.S 26. - Extending the right-turn lane from northbound Brookwood Parkway to the eastbound U.S. 26 entrance ramp. - Adding sidewalks and bike lanes within the interchange area. Traffic Impacts: Daytime single lane closures will occur in both directions from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on NW Helvetia Road north of the eastbound ramp interchange to the intersection of NW Helvetia Road and NW Jacobson Road on Monday, February 24 through Friday, February 28. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers within the work zone. Please note: NW Groveland Drive is permanently closed at NW Helvetia Road. NW Groveland Drive will be accessible from NW Groveland Road via NW West Union Road.
