Estimated delay under 20 minutes; Construction Work
Lanes Affected: (Northbound) 1 Lane
Comments: Expect lane closure with flagger control and up to 20 minute delays. Slow down and watch for loose gravel. Use caution. Summary: OR 429 from Willamette Highway to Lava Odell Road (milepost 0.000 milepost 2.390) will begin a month long highway paving project. The paving on OR 429 is a three-part process, which consists of a fine aggregate chip seal application, a course aggregate chip seal application, and finishing with a layer of asphalt concrete pavement over the top of the chip seal. The chip seal work will be intermittent due to a required 14-day curing time after each layer of chip seal is applied. Travelers should expect single lane closures as well as short delays, particularly on July 29 and August 12. Striping will occur after paving is completed and will also result in single lane closures and short delays. During the project, flaggers and pilot cars will direct traffic through the area. Temporary signs have been placed to warn travelers about the upcoming work. The project is to be completed by August 31.

US97 MP 141.86 to 149.22

Estimated delay under 20 minutes; Construction Work
Lanes Affected: (Southbound) 1 Lane
Comments: The Southbound slow lane is closed for a shoulder widening project through August, 2016. Speed is reduced to 50mph in portions of the work zone. The Romaine Village to Lava Butte Project includes shoulder widening and installation of median barrier. Work will be performed during the day; motorists can expect delays of less than 20 minutes through the work zone. The speed limit has been reduced to 50 MPH both Northbound and Southbound in the north end of the work zone. Starting in August, paving will be performed at night from 7pm to 7am, with one lane of traffic in each direction. Drivers can expect minimal delays during paving operations. When completed, the $6 million project will have widened the highway and installed a new concrete median safety barrier, extending the current barrier from Lava Butte to the south City of Bend city limits. (There will be a gap in the barrier permitting traffic to enter the High Desert Museum.) Once completed, the median barrier will reduce serious cross-over crashes. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October. The Northbound fast lane will also be closed as planned from 6/30-7/1.
